Jared Ridder 6’7″ MoKan Elite (Kickapoo): The long sharpshooter gets to play almost exclusively on the wing with his team having so much size on the interior. The Xavier commit continued to do what he does best, which is to knock down long 3-pointers off the catch. He also utilized his size to become a factor on the boards and he also blocked a few shots during the weekend.
Bryan Trimble 6’3″ MoKan Elite (Sunrise Christian): The Florida State commit is a dynamic athlete who has the ability to scoring on slashing drives to the basket and knock down 3-pointers. When he gets the ball in transition, it turns into a dunk-fest; and there were many of them last weekend. With his size and athleticism, he has the ability to guard all three perimeter positions.
Isaiah Burton 6’3″ IBTB (Raytown): A long and lean wing player who has a smooth offensive game. Burton displayed the ability to score at all three levels. He did a nice job of getting to the basket, especially in a transition game. He has a smooth mid-range game off the bounce and he was a good 3-point shooter off the catch. A very talented offensive player who should have a big senior year.
Jordan Bynum 6’3″ KC Elite (Lee’s Summit North): One of the more impressive 3-point shooters over the weekend, Bynum proved to be potent scorer during the weekend. What I liked about him was that he was not afraid to take big shots in big situations. He hit a number of clutch jumpers, including a 3-pointer to send a game into overtime. Provides good size and length on the win.
Treydon Rackley 6’2″ MBA Flight (Republic): The slender wing shooter enjoyed a very productive weekend with a very good MBA Flight team. Rackley has excellent range from 3-point territory and a quick release to go with it. He also showed the ability to scored on a jumper off the bounce if a defender closes out on him too hard.
Garrett Kesterson 6’4″ Missouri Gym Rats (Fair Grove): Garrett continued to show why he is such a good 3-point shooter, but I like the variety of ways that he can make himself available to get open shots. He gets open shots off of dribble penetration, he really runs hard off of screens to get open and he knows how to get himself open by setting screens.
Nick Bulanda 6’2″ St. Louis Gym Rats (Marquette): He enjoyed an outstanding weekend with his consistent perimeter shooter. He scored 25 points in one game and 27 in another. He has a nice high-arching mid-range jumper off the bounce, but he really displayed his 3-point shooting chops at the Hardwood. In one sequence, he made four consecutive 3-pointers in a row. He’s a very good athlete who also excels in football and baseball.
Deonte Johnson 6’3″ Missouri Gym Rats (Springfield Central): Deonte is a slashing young wing player who loves to attack the basket whenever possible. He is a good finisher around the basket with the ability to twist and turn his body at different angles at the hoops. He plays with high energy at all times whether he’s guarding people or diving on the floor for loose ball. Love his high motor.
Nick Messer 6’0″ St. Louis Gym Rats (Lafayette): A physically strong guard who is a double threat with his ability to get to the basket off the dribble and knock down jumpers from beyond the 3-point line. Messer is strong on the dribble and he takes care of the ball against pressure. Nick is the last in a talented group of Messer brothers who were standouts at Lafayette.
