Curtis Lewis 5’10” MoKan Elite EYBL (Pembroke Hill): Joined the MoKan EYBL team after playing with the Select team. Lewis fits right in with his stellar play at the paint. A powerful body in a small package, Lewis can wheel and deal to the basket and finish in the land of the giants. He has a nice jumper and he can sit down and defend at a high level. He also displayed some athleticism with a tomahawk dunk to put the finishing touches on a big victory.
Cameron Davis 6’1″ MoKan Elite EYBL (Kickapoo): Smooth combo guard who was comfortable at either backcourt position on the floor. He plays with excellent fundamentals and has a high basketball IQ. Kamari Balton 6’1″ C Phase Elite (Jefferson City): An excellent two-way guard who impacted games on both ends of the floor. He was a bonafide scoring threat from almost anywhere on the floor. He was very good at dribble penetration which enabled him to score on layups, floaters and mid-range jumpers. He also knocked down 3-pointers, which made him a tough cover. On defense, he was a quite bothersome with his quick hands and anticipation.
Tyree King 6’1″ Next Level Elite Gold (Blue Sprigs): A scoring point guard who continued his fine play in the month of July. Has the ability to score at all three levels. His quickness and strength enabled him to get to the basket and score in traffic. He can create space to knock down a mid-range jumper, plus he has 3-point range. Starting to get to Division I interest after a strong evaluation period.
Emil Spriggs 5’10” Missouri Hustle Central (Lee’s Summit North): A strong powerful point guard who is built like former UConn star Khalid El-Amin, he used his strength to his advantage. He could muscle his way to the basket and can stop and pop from 15 feet. He could also back down his defenders like an old-school point guard. Tough.
William Rogers 6’3″ Rainmakers Premier (Saxony Lutheran): One of the bigger point guards in the tournament, he combines size and his deft ball handling to get where he wanted to go. Strong lefty who was able to get to the basket. Stayed under control and did a nice job knocking down open 3-pointers.
Josh Nunn 5’10” Missouri Hustle Central (CBC): Small guard who displayed excellent quickness and offensive ability. He used his speed to get to his spots and showcased his shooting ability on the stop and pop from 15 feet and from 3-point range. Runs the pick and roll very well. A top student who is an excellent candidate for a top Division 3 academic institution.
Bryan Blanks 5’9″ IBTB (Raytown): A small, yet very stout point guard who was very tough to keep out of the lane. Stayed low on the dribble and used his strength to create plays getting to the basket. Also did a nice job of drawing defenders with his penetration and kicking out to open shooters for buckets.
Conley Garrison 6’0″ MBA Flight (Bolivar): Solid point guard who handles the ball well against pressure and gets the ball to the right place at the right time. He is an excellent 3-point shooter who also has the ability to make plays off the dribble when the opportunity presents itself. Did a nice job running a very good MBA Flight team.
