Continue ReadingThe Jayhawk Summer Finale kicked off play on Wednesday at the Drive5 Fieldhouse in Overland Park, Kan. and featured a match-up between Kansas City powerhouses Team Rush and KC Run GMC.
Jacob Gilyard, 5-9, 2017, KC Run GMC
There simply might not be a quicker player in the state of Missouri than Gilyard. He is a playmaker and both ends of the floor, able to create plays with the dibble at the offensive end, and create havoc at the defensive end with his relentless pressure.
Jordan Lathon, 6-4, 2018, Grandview, Team Rush
A long, athletic 2018 point guard with a good frame and size, Lathon made the play of the game, stripping a Run GMC player of the ball as he drove baseline for what would have likely been a go-ahead basket in the waning seconds. The play sealed a big win for Team Rush over its Kansas City rival.
Elijah Childs, 6-7, 2017, Lee’s Summit West, KC Run GMC
Childs is an athletic forward that can knock down mid-range jumpers with ease.
Isaiah Wilson, 6-0, 2017, Tolton, Team Rush
Quick point guard that has the ability to make plays off the dribble. Had a splendid match-up with another quick point guard, Jacob Gilyard, off Run GMC on Wednesday.
Marcedus Leech, 6-5, 2019, Poplar Bluff, St. Louis Eagles
Leech was moved up to the 17U team for the weekend and his team was on the court warming up for well over an hour as they waited on Wednesday’s opponent. Leech is a five star player holding numerous high major offers and the thing that stands out is how quick and light on his his feet he is … he has incredible agility, quickness and can flat play.
Mason Taylor, 6-4, 2018, Grandview, KC Run GMC
Point guard with nice size that always seems to make the right play. Can get in the lane, has a nice handle and does a good job running the show.
Damien Daniels, 5-7, 2018, Bishop Hogan, KC Gamespeed
Terrific guard that is everywhere on the court it seems. Is a hard nosed defender that really creates havoc and disrupts the opposition. Can really get into the lane and make plays.
Ethan Swanagan, 6-6, 2018, Blue Springs, KC Magic
A long, athletic forward that can do a little bit of everything. Showed off 3-point range and a versatile skill set on Wednesday.
Ronnie Bell, 6-0, 2018, Park Hill South, Team Rush
An athletic guard, Bell has a nice looking perimeter jumper and gets excellent bounce off the floor when he shoots. Can handle the ball and get in the paint.
Se’von Witt, 6-6, 2018, Raytown South, Team Rush
Super athletic forward with a strong frame. Can face up and drive to the basket and shoot the 3 as well. Battles much bigger players in the paint well, using his strength.
Ochai Agbaji, 6-3, 2018, Oak Park, Kansas City Keys
Really nice looking player with good size, athleticism and guard skills. Can really get to the bucket and finish in traffic, as well as shoot from the outside. Plays under control.
