Roman Wilson 6’9″ KC Pacers Blue 16U (Park Hill): The skilled big man was one of the most watched high school prospects; and for good reason. Kansas State head coach Bruce Webber and Wichita State head man Gregg Marshall were on hand to watch Wilson in action. Wilson is developing a perimeter game to go with what he does inside. He can handle the ball and he knocked down several 3-pointers. His upside is huge and he is only going to get better. a definite high major prospect in the making.
Lamel Robinson 5’9″ KC Run GMC (Park Hill South): A little dynamo who helped Run GMC cruise to the 15U championship of the tournament. Robinson has outstanding quickness and a real scorer’s mentality. He is a great finisher in transition and his speed and handles gets him into the lane on a consistent basis. Can really finish amongst the trees. He has the ability to create his own shot and knock down jumpers on the perimeter.
E.J. Bellinger 6’2″ Gateway (Fort Zumwalt South): He was very good in the two games I watched. Has a real scorer’s mentality and his shot was really falling. He has excellent 3-point range, especially off the catch with his quick release. He showed some ability to score off the bounce and he was also very good in transition. A long and lanky wing player.
Nicholas Zell 6’6″ KC Pacers Blue (Park Hill): A long southpaw post player with good size who did a nice job in the paint. He has a very good shooting touch around the basket. He works hard on the boards and he can also pass the basketball from the high post.
Luther Taylor 6’4″ Gateway (Whitfield): A blue collar post player with good athleticism around the basket. Plays taller than his actual height because of his length and jumping ability Does a nice job on the boards at both ends. Works the baseline quite well on offense. More of an inside player than a perimeter player at this stage of his career.
Jamonta Black 6’2″ Missouri Hustle 16U (Rock Bridge): Talented wing player who has good size and length and a versatile set of offensive skills. Has the ability to get to the basket off the bounce and knocked down a number of corner 3-pointers during the weekend.
Kyle Taylor 6’0″ KC Pacers Blue (St. Pius X): Did a good job shooting the basketball throughout the weekend. Excellent off the catch where he can really space the floor.
Hayden Thomas 6’2″ Gateway (Twin Rivers): A good wing player with a nice set of fundamentals. I like how he uses his ball fakes and head fakes to his advantage to create offense. He has a good mid-range game with the pull up jumpers and drives to the basket. He handles the ball well and can make plays for others.
Braeden Weitrich 6’0″ Missouri Hustle 16U (Moberly): Young guard who displayed excellent 3-point shooting ability off the catch. Also did a nice job handling the ball and getting the basket off the dribble to finish plays. Moves well without the ball to get to open spaces on the court.
