KC Run GMC prepared themselves for the nationals by sweeping the 15U, 16U and 17U championships at Mullen’s for the second consecutive year.
Here is a look at what is upcoming for KC Run GMC this week at the UAA:
17U:
Wednesday, July 13: vs. South Jersey Jazz, 7:45 p.m.; Friday, July 14: vs. New Heights, 10:45 a.m.
Missouri Prospects: Standout point guard Jacob Gilyard (Barstow) averaged 8.5 points, 4.4 assists and 1.7 steals a game while shooting 50 percent during the UAA regular season. He continues to impress as a floor leader. Forward Elijah Childs (Lee’s Summit West) averaged 7.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and shot 46 percent from the field in UAA play. He picked up new offers from Denver and Loyola of Chicago after the Mullen’s. Indiana State also extended an offer to the talented 6’7″ forward.
16U:
Wednesday, July 13: vs. 1 Nation, 6:30 p.m.; Friday, July 14; vs. Team Breakdown, noon
Missouri Prospects: Kansas City native Tyreese Davis (Life Christian) averaged 11 points and 5.6 rebounds in UAA play. The 6’6″ Davis also picked up an offer from Central Arkansas after the Mullen’s Tournament. Explosive point guard Mario Goodrich (Lee’s Summit West) averaged 10.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 steals in the UAA regular season. Goodrich picked up new offers from Tulsa and DePaul. Power forward Elijah Farr was also productive during the spring, averaging 7.8 points and five rebounds a game.
15U:
Wednesday, July 13, Indy Hoosiers, 7:45 p.m.; Thursday, W1001 Championship, 2:30 p.m.
Missouri Prospects: Park Hill South teammates Lamel Robinson and Desi Williams form the starting backcourt for an outstanding 15U team that went undefeated in UAA play. The 5’10 Robinson averaged 13.8 ponts, 2.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists while shooting 54 percent from the field. The 5’9″ Williams averaged 4.0 points and 2.6 assists a game.
Caleb Bennett Shines in UAA
2017 guard Caleb Bennett (St. Joe Lafayette) has also been a standout player in the UAA while playing for the Oklahoma Run PWP team. The 6’4″ Bennett averaged 14 points a game during the UAA regular season and continued to solidify himself as a Division I mid-major prospect.
