Levi Stockard 6’8″ Gateway (Vashon): The 250-pound Stockard was a force in the paint in leading Gateway to the 17U championship. He pounded the opposition with strong post moves, including a series of drop steps and jump hooks with both hands. He also scored on aggressive drives from the high post. Stockard was also a factor on defense with his shot blocking and rebounding. He continues to be a big stock riser in the 2017 class.
Mamandou Diarra 6’9″ Gateway (St. Louis Christian): The long, athletic power forward played with excellent activity on both ends and was very productive. He ran the court and used his length to be a real condor on defense on the perimeter and as a rim protector. He also flashed a nice shooting touch from 15 feet off the catch.
Eric Krus 6’6″ Missouri Hustle (Vianney): He enjoyed his best weekend of the summer with his shooting and rebounding ability. Played the Stretch 4 role perfectly by knocking down one 3-pointer after another. He really spaced the court well for his driving and slashing backcourt teammates. Krus also did an excellent job on the boards.
Ryan Stipanovich 6’7″ Gateway (DeSmet): Did an excellent job shooting the basketball for the 17U championship team. A versatile combo forward who has the ability to shoot the 3-pointer who drive the basketball or get inside in the post to use his size. Had a nice group of mid-major schools on hand to watch him.
Olawale Odofin 6’9″ St. Louis Gym Rats (St. Louis Christian): The long power forward was very impressive at both ends of the court. He was active on the offensive boards with a number of put-back slam dunks. He scored in the post and knocked down a number of baseline jumpers. Odofin was very active on the defensive end as he was a big presence in the lane.
Wesley Sharp 6’6″ SEMO Bulls (Ellington): A versatile forward who can either be a Stretch 4 with his size and 3-point shooting ability or a wing player with his ball handling prowess. He is thin, but he will battle inside for his share of rebounds. He has continued to make a nice transition from a high school post player to a college prospect as a wing player.
Dominic Davis 6’4″ Rocktown (Lindbergh): A versatile combo forward who provided matchup problems for defenders throughout the weekend. He is strong and physical on the drive and can get to the basket and score through contact. When guarded by smaller players, he will go inside and get buckets in the post. He was at his best when getting to the basket.
Willie Lucas 6’5″ Missouri Hustle Central (Poplar Bluff): A smooth lefty who was is an ideal Stretch 4 with his size and shooting ability. He displayed excellent range from 3-point distance. He also has some nice moves in the low post, including up-and-unders and jump hooks.
Cameron Lockett 6’5″ St. Louis Majestics (McCluer North): A blue-collar performer who got a lot done in the post with his effort and physical strength. He attacks the boards hard on both ends of the floor. If he misses the first shot, he’s getting the rebound and the put back. A big body and a high motor led to positive results.
Marshon Morrisey 6’4″ SEMO Bulls (Ellington): An undersized post player who uses his wide body to great advantage in the low post. Goes at about 250 pounds and he put it to good use to get excellent post position. He has the ability to use his body and finish around the basket against bigger defenders. He really attacks the offensive boards hard as well.
Treyvon Jefferson 6’7″ T.R.U.T.H Elite (Holt): A very athletic and bouncy power forward who plays with great energy at all times. His offensive game is still a work in progress, but I liked his motor and athleticism. He really ran the floor hard and got some easy buckets with hustle.
Raymond Smith 6’5″ St. Louis Gym Rats (St. Louis Christian): A very physical combo forward who has the ideal build to play on the wing with his ball handling and ability to drive to the basket. Yet, he has the physical strength to handle himself against much taller foes.
Chris Jordan 6’6″ Missouri Impact (Fort Zumwalt South): A hard-working power forward who gave excellent effort on both ends of the court. He was a good shot blocker and rebounder. He showed a nice touch from 10-12 feet from the baseline. Scored on his share of offensive put backs.
