Quenton Shelton 5’11” Lebanon (2020): An incoming freshman who provided some excitement with his long range shooting and ball handling ability. When I first saw him, I thought he was a senior and then I was told he was a freshman. Yikes. His handles were tight and he did a nice job creating shots getting to the basket for layups or floaters. He wasn’t shy about launching it from well beyond the 3-point line and he made his share. Very confident with the ball in his hands.
Dre Sorrells 5’9″ Grandview (2019): An impressive shooter with who really dial it up from long distance. On a team that is pretty loaded in young talent on offense, Sorrells comes in rather unassuming and starts launching deep 3-pointers off the catch and hitting them. Plays with good speed and quickness and can also handle the ball.
Luke Mackey 5’9″ Warrensburg (2019): A solid young point guard with good ball handling and passing skills with the ability to shoot the basketball. He has good quickness and he keeps the ball moving.
Dawson Zimdars 6’5″ Lebanon (2019): Young post player who battles inside and gets his share of rebounds. He is long and lean, but he showed a willingness to get inside and mix it up against bigger, stronger players. Ran the court well and did a nice job hustling to block a few shots during the camp. Added strength will make him an effective high school post.
