Yahuza Rasas 6’6″ St. Mary’s: One of the most athletic players at the tournament. Yahuza is long and athletic and does an excellent job of the boards, which is still his strong suit. His offensive game continues to grow by leaps and bounds. I was most impressed with the development of his turnaround jumper in the lane. He hit a couple of them over both the right and left shoulders. He works hard and he continues to get better. Plays with the St. Louis Eagles on the 16U Nike EYBL circuit.
Cameron Hester 6’7″ Jackson: A big, strong strapping lad in the low post, Hester is a load when he is going well. He has a nice body to go along with his height and he can really post up strong and get good position. He did an excellent job of finishing around the basket with both hands. He is a solid athlete who can also run the court and threw down a dunk or two in traffic.
Caleb Strauss 6’7″ Warrenton: A big lefty who is very good around the basket with his size and length. He is an impressive rebounder who will just go and get the ball. Rebounds out of his area pretty well. Has good moves around the basket and a solid jump hook, which is tough to stop, especially with him being left handed. He also displayed the ability to step outside and knock down a 15 footer off the catch.
Pete Lake 6’6″ Jackson: Had an impressive performance against St. Mary’s in the game I watched. He handled the ball from the perimeter and attacked on the dribble. He made a couple of 3-pointers off the catch. He also got out on the break and threw down a couple of dunks in transition. Showed no fear when attacking the basket as he tried to dunk on people. Very thin, but he was aggressive on offense.
Cason Suggs 6’7″ Washington: An improving young big who is starting to come into his own. He is more comfortable facing up when he knocked down a couple of 3-pointers off the pick and pop. He also converted a three-point play with a strong dribble move from the high post. He also displayed a nice jump hook. He is very long and took advantage of that length to block shots. Has made very positive strides in the past couple of months.
