The Tigers will again be a favorite next year as they graduate just three seniors and two starters overall.
“I think nowadays you have to take every advantage you can get,” Morrison told PHD about his off-season of work. “There’s so many good to pretty good players you have to find ways to separate yourself.
“Lifting weights, going to team camps, individual camps, working on your game in the gym are all pretty much an agenda for a player looking to get better. It’s all about the time between the season, that’s when you truly have to take time to get yourself prepared.”
And what are the main things Morrison is working on to get ready for his senior year?
“I’d like to clean up my ball handling and get bigger and stronger.”
The numbers of what White River has done are staggering and Morrison knows them well.
“Our team made it to state for the 11th straight year,” Justice told PHD. “We’ve played in eight consecutive LNI championship games. Myself, I made a game winner at the state tournament and was selected to 3rd team all state so it was a good year.
“Next year we got our core group of guys coming back so we are looking to contend. We are a smaller team so our team rebounding and working together defensively are huge keys for us.”
Morrison is also starting to look at the college level for basketball. There are schools he really likes at the moment.
“I’ve heard from Northwestern and Mount Marty and Black Hills State for basketball. I love Black Hills State. Our coach went to school there, a couple guys from the past are going there.”
Another option for Morrison is golf. Last week he finished second in state at the Class B state tournament. Justice mentioned that the golf coaches from DWU have chatted with him about playing golf there.
