Webster has found a home with Pocket City and he is able to play on and off the ball, both areas where he can be really good. Kobe is a solid passing guard who sees the floor well but at the same time can be that shooter that you need. He brings offense without taking too much away from the rest of the team.
“Pretty good,” Webster said of his play this spring with a new team. “Changed teams but Pocket City has been great. Competing and continuing to get better. Been playing well. Obviously had to get used to the new team but feeling comfortable after a couple of tournaments.”
The 5’11 point guard already has a pair of offers in hand from Ball State and Cornell but other schools have been keeping in touch. Ball State, Cornell, Columbia, Western Illinois, Western Michigan, Austin Peay, Kent State, and Stanford make up his recruiting list to this point.
He has a pair of visits coming up this next month as he heads to Western Illinois on June 11th and then later in the month he goes to Columbia for their Elite Camp. He has been getting good feedback and has kept the contact going with his suitors.
“Good feedback overall,” Kobe said. “Coaches like the way I am able to lead and direct on the floor. Would like to see me get a little stronger but I feel the same way. But the coaches I have talked to are interested and impressed for the most part.”
This spring has been an up-and-down one but Kobe Webster is on the upswing and based on his play this past weekend up in Chicago, he’s going to be one of the better performers in July. His stock is starting to go up.
