Defensively his mobility plays well being able to move blocking and altering shots. Good area rebounder that fights for 50/50 balls and is tough on the glass. Offensively runs the floor very well for his size. Good footwork around the hoop. Definitely should be on low-major radar!
Lubert broke down how the year went for him this past season at St. Viator.
“For me individually I think it went good with player development under our coaches at Viator. I have got in this best condition I have ever been. Our high school season went pretty well. We had a couple tough losses to Benet and Marian that if they went the other way we could be considered one of the better teams in the state. Overall I thought it was a good season and set us up for this year.”
He spoke about where his game grew.
“I think I developed in my post moves. I think I need to develop in that. I think I have better confidence and learned more of the fundamentals in the post and got making moves to the basket.”
What does he see as the strengths of his game?
“I think I can rim run pretty well. I can play defense and get as many rebounds as I can. Clean up around there. Also think I have some pretty good post moves and mid-range shooting. If I have a guy that is not as quick as me I like to step out and shoot. If that is working shot fake and go around him.”
Lubert fits in great with his Team RWA on the grassroots circuit.
“It is nice that we have scorers that create opportunities for other guys. I haven’t been on to many AAU teams in the past that have had that. A lot of it has to do with player development. Along with Viator these guys have put me in the best condition that I am at where I am able to run well, jump, and make power moves to the basket that I wasn’t able to before.”
Not much going on with recruiting, but expect things to pick up!
“I got a letter last year from Western Illinois and another one this year.”
