Continue ReadingThe incoming junior class is always a tricky one to figure out early on. The top kids in the class always get their offers early and some have to wait until they are seniors before stacking up offers. However, there are some prospects that pick up offers in between those times and their stock can blow up.
The guy in this 2018 class to watch may end up being Ben Davis wing Aaron Henry. The 6’5 wing just picked up an offer from IUPUI a little while back and he’s been getting better and better in the last few months on the AAU circuit. He has a host of new schools looking at him and by the end of July, Henry could establish himself as one of the top players in the class in Indiana.
Michigan State, Michigan, Oakland, Detroit, Iowa, Butler, and Indiana State have really picked up the pressure. IUPUI was his first offer for Henry and they have been keeping in contact with their target.
“We have a consistent relationship,” Aaron said of IUPUI. “They check on me here and there and come to most games they can. I like the school and the coaching staff. I could see myself adapting to the way they play.”
Coaches from different programs have been reaching out to Henry and for good reason. He’s one of the better scoring wings in the class with a big frame and tons of strength already. Henry can shoot it solid but is even better creating off the bounce where he can get into the lane and make plays.
“They like my versatility as far as pushing the ball when I get rebounds,” Henry said of the feedback he has been getting. “Shooting off the dribble also my knowledge of the game and my ability to guard multiple positions on the court.
Coming up this next month or so, Aaron Henry will make a few visits to some of those top colleges. Michigan State, Indiana State, and Iowa will likely be getting a visit from the 2018 wing.
