Xavier Rhodes 5’11” MoKan Elite (Rockhurst) – Very smooth and confident scoring point guard who helped lead MoKan’s 16U team to the championship of the 17U division. Displayed excellent handles with the ability to change speed and directions and create shots for himself. Gets to the basket to finish and can knock down jumpers. Dropped several dimes to his bigs for easy buckets and dunks.
Damien Daniels 5’7″ KC Game Speed (Hogan Prep) – One of the fastest guards in the state with the ball in his hands. Travels end to end in transition at warp speed. Electric quickness when getting to the basket off the dribble. Has the ability to knock down a perimeter shot which makes him a big headache to guard.
Dorian Wright 6’2″ Kansas City Keys (Blue Springs South): Very good floor leader with good size and excellent handles. Strong with the basketball and can create for his teammates. Has the ability to get his own offense when he needs to. Helped lead his team to the 16U championship game.
R.J. Lawrence 5’11” KC Pacers Blue (Blue Springs): Talented offensive player with the ability to go on scoring binges at a moment’s notice. Can beat defenders with quickness off the dribble, but has the ability to stop on the dime for a pull-up jumper. Can also knock down the 3-ball from long distance.
Diego Bernard 5’9″ MoKan Elite (St. Joe Lafayette): Very aggressive lefty guard who has the ability to penetrate and get to the basket. Gets after it defensively as well. Finishes well at the rim and has a nice pull up jumper. Helped MoKan 16s to the 17U championship.
Trent Lyles 5’11” Missouri Hustle (Sacred Heart) – Strong floor leader who enjoyed another big tournament. Very good passer who really scored well over the weekend, especially getting to the basket. Has the ability to create shots in the lane on instinct at play the angles. Excellent finisher.
Alex Smith 6’2″ Missouri Combat (Battle): Strong point guard who did a very nice job handling the ball against some intense defensive pressure in the game I witnessed. Kept the team organized and displayed the ability to get to the basket and knock down a short jumper.
Rashaan Collins 5’7″ KC Game Speed (Hogan Prep) – Extremely quick point guard who plays with great pace at all times. Has plenty of get up and go on the defensive end. Loves to apply the pressure. Does an excellent job of getting in the lane with dribble penetration.
