“I just want to show my game, not try to do stuff I can’t do,” Gunn said. “Just need to do what I can do and play my strengths, take care of the ball, go up strong. Been kind of struggling with that, getting it blocked, not taking it up quick enough, but just need to work on my game overall.”
While he wants more looks, the No. 7 prospect in the Prep Hoops Indiana top 160 does have offers from Indiana, Butler, IUPUI and Ball State. He had an offer from St. Louis before Jim Crews was dismissed as well. He has taken unofficial visits to those schools, as well as Michigan already, and hasn’t planned any official visits. He said he is likely to take some over the summer to a few of those schools, though.
Until then, he’s focused on showing off what has already garnered him interest in the first place.
“They like my versatility, that I know and can probably play two, three, four in college,” Gunn said.” Thing is, have to work on the defensive end and they (coaches) say that and let me know.”
That improvement is something Gunn is focused on doing. He offers the offensive game to complement many teams with his size and scoring ability. With improved defensive capabilities he could garner those looks he is hoping to gather.
“I work on that a lot in practice, foot speed on the defensive end,” Gunn said. “Working a lot on shooting still, working a lot all over.”
