“My season went pretty good,” Peyton told PHD. “We lost a few games towards the middle of the season that I really think we should have won. But that made us better around tournament time.
“I think what I’ll remember most about this season is getting to play with my brother Brett who is a freshman. I mean, he didn’t play a whole lot but he got some huge minutes in our region tournament and hit some big shots and just getting to be there and experience that with him was awesome.”
A moment like that is what high school sports is all about.
Another thing that high school sports is about is personal growth and maturation. Putting work in and getting results. Peyton put in a lot work last off-season and it showed this winter.
“Last year I felt like I was easy to guard because defenders looked at me as just a shooter,” Peyton told us. “I went into the off season knowing I had to work on my ability to get to the hoop and I did.
“I got to the rim a lot easier then I did last year and it made me harder to guard. College is a lot more physical than high school so I have to get in the weight room all off season and get stronger to prepare my self for that.”
And Gabrielson has his future goals in front of him as he has already decided where he will play next season.
“I have verbally committed to play basketball at Bismarck State College.”
