The No. 3 ranked prospect by Prep Hoops Indiana in the class of 2018 is hearing from Michigan, Michigan State, and most of the Big Ten. This comes on top of his two official offers to Kent State and IUPUI and the unofficial visits he has taken to Xavier, Purdue and Indiana.
These bigger programs are watching the 6-foot-2 guard closely because of the players strong shooting ability. Hunter can pull up from nearly anywhere on the court and is continuing to showcase an improved ability to attack the basket.
“They like my motor and my scoring ability and court vision,” Hunter said. “My ball handling, I’m still working on that type of stuff, but I think it’s solid right now.”
The biggest area for Hunter to take a huge step can come from his body development as much as his on court development. He is trying to become stronger and knows this could take his game to the next level.
“My body right now, my upper body period, I need to get bigger,” he said. “It’ll be pretty big because I can get all the way to the basket and finish on top and fight through people.”
While he is continuing to work on his strength, he hasn’t thought about when he will take the next steps in his recruitment process. Even without a timetable, he is enjoying it and is beginning to see what he wants in a program.
“It’s a fun process, but it’s pretty long,” Hunter said of his recruitment. “And because they are interested in me, I want to see how I would fit in with them.”
