Playing alongside five-star recruits Michael Porter, Trae Young and others, Teahan (6-foot-5) has made six appearances for MoKan as the squad has started 6-1 in the first two sessions (Brooklyn and Indianapolis).
“It’s a completely different experience than anything I’ve seen or played in,” Teahan said. “It’s high major college competition before actual college, it’s crazy.
“I’m just trying to play a role. We are a complete team, and with Porter and Young, we have a good chance of going to and winning the Peach Jam.”
Teahan says he does not currently hold any offers, but has been hearing from IUPUI and Elon recently.
Although he is known for his outside shooting, Teahan says he is improving his all-around play.
“I excel at shooting especially in mid range and 3-point range, (but) I’m working on my ball handling and becoming a better all around player,” he said. “(And) being more defensive minded and being a good teammate.”
Chris is the younger brother of former Rockhurst standoutConner Teahan, who was named Mr. Show-Me Basketball his senior year and went on to play at Kansas from 2007 to 2012.
“I still remember going to the (Kansas) games and watching him,” Chris Teahan said. “He also helps me get through the growing pains that everyone else experiences. He also knows what it takes to become a high major player.”
On the court, Teahan says tries to model his game after Golden State standout Klay Thompson.
“He’s obviously a lights out shooter, but he also can get to the basket and knock down the mid range shot,” Teahan said.
