At 6-foot-3, 200-pounds, Tribble has a versatile skill set, capable of shooting the 3, driving to the rack or playing in the paint. He is a strong defender armed with a big frame and good feet.
“He has improved quite a bit from last year to this year,” MoKan head coach Rodney Perry said. “This next year is going to be an important one for Bryan. In the past he has just played off of his athletic ability, but now he is understanding the game and has an IQ for the game and is understanding that he can get to the basket, shoot the jumper, can dribble and this year he is learning how to play hard.
“That is the biggest thing about him is to make sure that he plays hard on every single possession not just coast and use his talent.”
Tribble has drawn interest from a host of college programs, including Georgia, SMU, Nebraska, Saint Louis, Missouri, Boise State, Oklahoma State, and most recently picked up an offer from Florida State.
He plans to reclassify and return to Sunrise Academy for another year.
“I believe that an extra year will not only help me with my skill but getting my body ready also,” he said. “Sunrise has helped a lot. You have to learn how to become more mature at a young age because there is nobody here that will just baby sit you, which is a good thing.
“It always helped my game a lot with having 24 hour access to the gym and coaches here willing to get in soon as you hit them up.”
Tribble is one of four Nike EYBL veterans on the MoKan Elite squad this spring and summer, playing alongside fellow Sunrise standout Derrick Walker as well as five star recruits Michael Porter and Trae Young. He said the experience of playing with MoKan and the EYBL has helped take his game to new heights.
“It has been very very important because you have to prove you belong there when playing on one of the best teams in the country,” he said.
In the meantime, Trimble said he will be using the offseason and playing on the Nike EYBL circuit to work on his game.
“I will be focused on my craft, all types of ball screens, and creating more space with less dribbles,” he said.
He said the biggest influence on his life has been his mother
“The sacrifices I see her make daily for her children is insane,” Trimble said. “I’ve never seen a woman go make it happen. Keeps a huge smile on her when going through good or bad times!! And most importantly for me over time she taught me how to just be great full and just thankful for the little things.”
Trimble said he looks up to Laker Kobe Bryant who will be playing his final game today.
“I can’t say I tried one of his moves, but I have tried his mindset and the way he approaches the game,” Trimble said.
