“The season had its ups and downs,” Krueger told PHD. “I played the first game and was out the next eight with a severe ankle sprain. The team pulled through and we had guys stepping up when we needed them. It was very hard watching and not the ideal season.
“I came back and we were finally healthy again heading into districts. We ended up losing in the district championship within the last few minutes of the game. I may not remember the wins and losses the team has had but I will definitely remember the memories with the boys.
“It’s been a great season even if our record doesn’t show it as much and I’ve had so much fun playing for Rosholt.”
The loss to Waverly-South Shore ended the Rosholt year in the district title game and it ended a strong 14 games for Krueger. Sure the missed eight games will forever linger but Alex made the most of his 14 consistently putting up 20 plus and improving along the way.
“One thing that grew for me was leadership,” said Krueger. “I was the only returning starter and only returning captain. It was my season to take charge and help the team out on and off the court.”
At 6-foot-5 with skill we saw a player last spring and summer that has the ability to play college basketball. Will Alex? School is also very important to him so right now college hoops is up in the air.
“I’ve had no new schools in contact,” said Krueger. “As of now I may not be playing college basketball. Might focus on my major.”
