The 6’0″ point guard has received numerous Division I offers after helping the Greyhounds to the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 16 championship and a berth in the national tournament in Hutchinson, KS.
Lindsey has received offers from Eastern Michigan, Arkansas State, SIU-Edwardsville, Sam Houston State, Alcorn State, Cleveland State and Georgia State. His latest visit came last weekend at Eastern Michigan.
“I thought the visit went well,” Lindsey said. “It was a great experience. I really enjoyed it.”
There have been reports on Twitter that Lindsey committed to Eastern Michigan, but he said that he has an upcoming visit scheduled for Arkansas State.
Lindsey entered Moberly two years ago after a standout career at McCluer North, where he averaged 22 points a game as a junior and senior to earn All-State honors both years. Lindsey began his junior college career as a scoring lead guard, but he has evolved into a pure point guard who can run the show, make his teammates better and still create scoring opportunities for himself.
“In the past two years, I learned to do whatever it took to win games,” Lindsey said. “If it was scoring, passing or defense, I did whatever it takes to win. I tried to be the toughest player on the floor. Coach (Pat) Smith stresses toughness and I tried to be the toughest player.”
As a sophomore, Lindsey averaged 12.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists while shooting 39 percent from 3-point range and 85 percent from the free throw line. He scored 24 points in the Greyhounds’ victory over State Fair in the Region 16 championship game. He scored 19 points in Moberly’s victory over Indian Hills (IA) in the first round of the NJCAA National Tournament.
“It was a great season,” Lindsey said. “It was the first time that Moberly had gone to the national tournament in 11 years. To get back to the national tournament was great for our program and the community.”
