KC Pacers: The 17U won the championship of the Big Foot Hoops Kingwood Classic in Houston. The Pacers defeated the Ballin’ Ambassadors (CA) in the championship game. Point guard Jaden Bristol had a big championship game with 23 points and eight assists to lead the Pacers. In a semifinal victory over the Louisiana D1 Ambassadors, forward Saxton Thurston had 27 points and 11 rebounds.
The 16U team won the championship of the Kingwood Classic, defeating PHA Thunder (TX) in the championship game. Guard R.J. Lawrence scored 19 points in the championship game. The 5’11” Lawrence also had a 30-point performance in a victory over Sixth Man Warriors (LA). Point guard Jeremiah Garrett had an overall excellent floor game in the finals with nine assists, four steals and six steals. Guard Sam Ward added 14 poins, seven assists and four steals.
The 15U team went 2-2 over the weekend. The Pacers were led by the 1-2 inside duo of 6’9″ Roman Wilson and 6’5″ Nic Zeil. In the tournament, they combined for 119 points, 65 rebounds and 28 blocks as a tandem.
Team KC: The 17U won the Silver Division Championship at the Elevate Hoops Terrific 24 in Indianapolis. They defeated Pocket City (IN) 75-72 in the championship game on a half-court shot by guard Matt Austin at the buzzer. Senior forward Matthew Pile scored 21 points in the finals while talented guard Demarco Smith added 20 points. The 6’1″ Austin enjoyed an excellent tournament is averaging close to 20 points, including the dramatic game-winner in the finals. He scored 20 points in a 66-61 victory over LA Rockfish. The Team KC 15U team and 16U team both finished with 2-1 records over the weekend.
SEMO Bulls: The 16U team won the Platinum Open Division championship at the NY2LA Lone Star in Texas. The Bulls defeated Team Jah’s Elite 66-63 in the championship game. Forward Austin Parker enjoyed a big tournament for the Bulls. He scored 16 points in the championship game. He also had 24 points vs the Dallas Suns and 20 points against the Minnesota Phenom. Guard Klay Barton also had a good tournament shooting the ball. He scored 22 points in a 78-76 victory over KC Game Speed.
MoKan Select: The 17U team went 5-0 and won the championship of the Midwest Takeover Tournament in Indianapolis. It was the second consecutive championship for the team, which won the Next Level Nationals in Texas the previous week.
