South Knox fell behind early and was struggling to get anyone going offensively. Even right after halftime, Barr-Reeve was up only a few points but in complete control. Then, Isiah Stafford got hot.
The South Knox senior guard started to get into it on defense and helped to give his team some easier opportunities. He pushed in transition and hit a big three followed by an and-one to put South Knox into the lead. Barr-Reeve struggles continued into the fourth quarter where they couldn’t get a field goal. Finally, Trevor Yoder broke the silence with a triple but it was a little late as South Knox was able to hold on for a 43-40 win over Barr-Reeve.
Player of the Game:
Isaiah Stafford – 6’1 PG – Senior
Barr-Reeve had this game in hand for quite a while. It wasn’t until Stafford started to take control on the defense that South Knox was really in this game. Stafford was excellent in the second half and put Barr-Reeve on their heels. He actively looked to score later in the game which is about the opposite of how things had been going. Excellent game from the senior.
