The 6’6″ Brazil concluded his career at Boonville helping his school make some history after winning back-to-back Class 3 district championships. In Boonville’s 76-51 victory over Sherwood in the District 13 championship game, Brazil had 12 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. A typical performance from Brazil, who has been a double-double machine throughout his career.
“It feels great winning two district titles,” Brazil said. “It really feels good because when we won it last year, it had been 31 years since Boonville High School won a district title. And it was 43 years since we ever won back to back district titles, so it feels great. It’s the best feeling I’ve ever felt.”
Brazil has been a consistent inside force for the Pirates with his low-post scoring, rebounding and shot blocking. He is a strong finisher around the rim with his dunking ability. As a senior, Brazil averaged 15.4 points and 9.6 rebounds while shooting 55 percent from the field. Brazil is a blue collar player who comes to the gym and produces double-doubles on a nightly basis.
“The best part of my game is probably my rebounding, finishing at the rim, mid range jump shot and my leadership,” Brazil said. “The key to my individual success really has been working hard and just improving every day and every year.”
Brazil is still looking for his first offer from a collegiate program. He said several schools have contacted him by mail, but no firm offers have been made as of yet.
