Advance (24-5) vs. Gideon (24-4): A rematch of last year’s sectional contest, won by Advance on their way to the Final Four. Advance has a balanced attack with five players scoring in double figures. Gideon is led by 6’5″ senior Kason Lawrence, who is a force in the paint. (Prediction: Advance)
Eminence (15-13) vs. School of Ozarks (24-3): (Prediction: School of Ozarks): S of O is back in the sectionals this season behind the play of 6’4″ senior Keaton Tillack and 5’8″ senior guard Cade Martin. (Prediction: School of Ozarks)
Walnut Grove (27-2) vs. Weaubleau (22-6): Run and gun Walnut Grove has been putting up some big numbers this season. Standouts Dallas Meinders and Logan Thomazin combined for 69 points in the district championship game. Weaubleau has a balanced offense led by Kaleb Minica and Gatlin Freeman. (Prediction: Walnut Grove)
Drexel (17-8) vs. Otterville (18-9): Drexel has a balanced unit led by sophomore guard Wyatt Deel. Otterville has an outstanding junior in point guard Jake Neal, who scored 56 points in a game this season. (Prediction: Otterville)
Chamois (11-14) vs. Glasgow (24-3) (Prediction: Glasgow): Perennial state power Glasgow is looking to make another deep run, led by veterans Bryant Hubbard and Kennedy Davis. (Prediction: Glasgow)
Wellsville (20-6) vs. Mercer (22-4): Mercer is led by its junior duo of guards Cashman Hartley and bryer Noe. Wellsville is coming off its first district championship in 14 years. (Prediction: Mercer)
Hardin Central (19-8) vs. Winston (27-0): Undefeated Winston has overwhelmed opponents with its speed and pressure defense with 6’1″ senior Jordan Leonard and junior guard Craig Lewis leading the way. Hardin Central will counter with 6’3″ standout Ryan Layman, who averages 22 points a game. (Prediction: Winston)
Stanberry (27-0) vs. North Andrew (23-5): Undefeated Stanberry has one of the biggest teams in Class 1 with 6’5″ Daniel Hailey and 6’6″ Alex McQuinn leading the way. North Andrew has a solid group led by senior guard Mitchell Officer. (Prediction: Stanberry)
