The Chargers grabbed the early lead 9-4 in the first quarter and relied on numerous players to stay in control. They did this without Ball State commit Kyle Mallers having his best game, too. Mallers finished with just four points on 2-for-11 shooting, but Carroll was able to overcome his struggled by going 5-for-10 from 3-point range and forcing North Side in to tough shots all evening. The Redskins finished the game shooting just 34 percent from the field.
While Carroll controlled the first half, the Redskins did make a run in the second half behind a frenetic press. After trailing by as many as 14 in the fourth quarter, North Side pulled to within seven. Carroll was able to maintain the lead and hold North Side off thanks to strong free throw shooting from John Anthony Martin, who went 7-for-10 from the foul line to help close the game.

Player of the Game:
Kelham Brown – 6’4’ SF – Senior
Brown’s presence was really felt in the beginning of the game. He came out quick by going right after Keion Brooks Jr. and blew past him a few times for layups, and then he provided a lot of different things for the Chargers throughout the game. He finished by shooting a solid 5-for-7 and 5-for-6 from the free throw line, then adding seven rebounds, an assist and a steal. He isn’t the Chargers star, but on this night he did everything they needed.
