Continue ReadingIn the final position rankings for the class of 2017, we take a look at the center position. It isn’t deep like most other classes but it also doesn’t have any guys at the top that stand out. It should provide the lower level programs with some options, however.
At the top of this group, I love the size you can get with guys like Collin Sonderman and Stevie Mack, both big bodied post players that can eat up space. Sonderman gives you good height at 6’9 as well as guys like Gage Pinkerton (6’9) and Dut Mabok (6’9). Also, this group isn’t going to be an offensive bunch. Most are solid rebounds who can eat space but none really produce at a high level. I like the ability of Jadon Manion. As long as you feed him in the post, he’s more than capable of scoring.
There are also quite a few undersized bigs that lower level programs should be watching. I really like Chazz Bruce of Huntington North. Big, strong kid who can score against taller post players. Mike Pitz of Carmel is a guy that is still growing in both height and skill. With that said, here is the final position rankings for the class of 2017 with our look at the centers.
