Vijay Blackmon
6’3 – SG – 2016
Blackmon was not as aggressive as I would have liked him to be but he still played a decent game. He forced some stuff and could not get anything to go close at the rim. He was really good defensively though creating a ton of deflections and getting steals. Not his best game but pretty effective tonight. He has a very high ceiling as he starts hitting shots. – 18 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists
Reggie Jones
6’5 – SF – 2016
Jones didn’t start but he came off the bench and gave a spark. He didn’t play much but he was overall probably the most effective on the court the whole game. He was pretty effective on the post but wasn’t very aggressive rebounding. He kind of stayed back and did not get in there very much but once he does start mixing it up every time down the floor he should become a double-double machine. – 15 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists
Tim Leavell
6’1 – PG – 2017
Leavell was the point guard in this one and did a fabulous job in that role. He had a few turnovers but they didn’t seem to be his fault. Leavell also scored the ball very well and was a great all-around guard in the game. He will be someone to watch for next year if he can keep this production up. – 18 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists
Gage Pinkerton
6’10 – C – 2017
Pinkerton didn’t play much but he was really effective with his height. Not many players in the state are taller than him and he has a good nose for the ball. The only knock on him is his weight, if he adds a little bit more he will become better because of it. Pinkerton also needs to be a little more aggressive and call for the ball but he can’t really do that when he has the scorers around him that he does. – 4 points, 2 rebounds, 2 blocks
Jordan Smith
6’4 – SG – 2016
Smith had a really good game. He scored with ease and didn’t force anything either. Being a guard he crashed the boards well and mixed it up inside. I would have liked him to shoot a bit farther out but he will have to gain confidence in that. He hit a 3-pointer and never really went back out there and just stayed inside 15′. – 15 points, 8 rebounds
Logansport:
Matt Jennings
6′ – PG – 2017
Jennings showcased in this game what you usually see from him. He’s a really good point guard who can score the ball in multiple ways. He struggled tonight a little bit with his decision making against the good guards of Marion but he still was impressive. He didn’t shoot the ball as well as he usually does but he made up for that with his game management skills. Jennings is a really good junior point guard who will only get better. – 24 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists
Jalen Adaway
6’4 – SF – 2017
Adaway really showed his great athleticism in this game. He was easily the most athletic on the court and he skied for a few put back dunks and got a alley-oop. He’s a tough guy with a really good motor and never stops playing. He shot the better than the last time I saw him but he still needs to clean his jumper up a little but it’s gotten a lot better. He will be a really good D1 college player. – 19 points, 9 rebounds
Hunter DeHaven
6’5 – SF– 2017
DeHaven was pretty decent in this game but I would have liked him to get a little more aggressive and call for the ball when he was wide open. He stood at the elbow and was open every time. He is an athletic kid who will need to start shooting and being a little bit more aggressive but he still has a good frame and just needs to become more aggressive. – 7 points, 9 rebounds
Jack Skaggs
6’3 – SG– 2017
Skaggs really showed his shooting ability in this one and was really tough and didn’t back down from anyone. He went out with a cut on his face before halftime but came back into the game in the third quarter. He’s a big body and active defensively so guys can’t just drive around him. If he grows a little he could be a low-level college guy. – 11 points, 3 rebounds
