Franklin Central’s Marcus Burk Picking Up Steam
One of the bigger surprises in the state this season has been the play of Franklin Central and it’s star player Marcus Burk. Burk had put up considerable points the year before averaging 19 a game but has been even better this year averaging more than 24 points per game. He’s come onto the radar of a lot of NAIA and DII schools and has even got a look from some DI programs. Last night, Marcus picked up a pair of DII offers from Northwood and Urbana. He already had offers from Saint Francis (IN) and Maryville in hand. Binghampton and Murray State have been in to check on the 2016 shooting guard.
Biffle’s Play Continues To Improve, Gains Offer
Much like Burk, Mekhi Biffle has steadily improved over the course of the season and colleges are now starting to take notice. The 6’2 off-guard just picked up an offer last night from DII program Southern Indiana. He’s had quite a bit of interest from DII programs but only Tampa, St. Joseph (IN), and now USI have offered. He was once committed to Marian University and he also had an offer from Indiana Wesleyan.
Dollison Gets On The Board With Two Offers In One Day
The 6’5 Fishers product, Lance Dollison, had been waiting to get some offers in hand and he got a pair on Tuesday after a solid season of production. Both Central State and Ubrana offered Dollison yesterday. Lance has shown steady improvement this season transitioning more from a shooter to a scorer. The process has been up and down but his production has shown improvement and has helped to lead Fishers to some big wins this year and a chance to compete for a Sectional Championship.
Marion’s Reggie Jones Makes Commitment To New Orleans
After a visit for a game from New Orleans Head Coach Mark Slessinger on Saturday during Marion’s game in the North Central Conference Tournament on Saturday, Reggie Jones only needed a few days to think about his next move. Following that visit, Jones picked up his official offer from New Orleans and within 72 hours he made his decision.
