Blessed with a 6-foot-5 frame, Marshall can really light it up from the outside, but is also capable of using his size to attack the basket.
He currently holds offers from Drury, Westminster and Central Iowa (Pella, Iowa) and has had visits to Central Iowa and Drury.
Marshall played for the St. Louis and Jeff City Gym Rats and traveled to Atlanta and Wisconsin and throughout the midwest.
“Playing AAU helped me deal with hard fouls and playing through contact,” he said. “The games were really fast paced and helped my conditioning really well.”
Marshall is not only one of the teams leading scorers, but is also its leading rebounder at more than 5.0 rebounds per game and is shooting 86 percent from the free throw line.
“Sam is that guy that has worked so hard over the years to really make himself the kind of basketball player that he is,” Rolla head coach Mark Miller said. “He is a nice, big athlete, but I wouldn’t say he is jampacked with athleticism.
“It is just his work ethic — just the way he thinks — he’s wanting to do things to make himself better. He wants to work on his weaknesses. He is a very intelligent basketball player and young man. He is a wonderful leader for us.”
