Offense
- Fargo South had two players denying Siman on the very first possession of the game but I believe they messed up their assignments and it wasn’t a trick defense. Maybe it should have been!
- A lob play was ran for Siman and it was defended fine but Siman has such a quicker and better leap than the opponent, plus length, he caught the ball at the top of the ball’s flight, shot, and was fouled.
- North has him playing lead guard even though they have a nice senior lead guard in Kade Hoeg so that tells you how highly his coach thinks of him handling the ball and making decisions.
- Attacked in transition, his man beat him to the angle but Siman spun back middle and went around a defender for a tough angle bank. Excellent transition score showing a quick push, a separation move, and body control to finish.
- Loves the right to left crossover separation move
- Liked how he called for the ball, caught, and one dribbled into a made three without the closing defender bothering him on the make.
- Had a gorgeous split of the defense off a ball screen where Siman exploded into the gap before either defender could react and then took off mid-lane for a finger roll before the defense could make a play.
- Siman is just too quick with the first step and the pace, too long, and too quick off his feet for a single defender at this level of basketball.
- Opened the second half with a left to right crossover separation into a pull-up three without a defender able to move their feet to keep in front of his attempt. Great lift on the shot as well.
- Second score was a backside cut off the ball from wing to baseline catching and then lifting over the help defender to finish
- Siman had some turnover issues pushing at the lead guard spot in transition but that is to be expected as he’s played more two in his life and is constantly playing at a high pace.
Defense
- Love his deep stance defensively and how quickly he moves with each step in each direction. All that length is so tough to deal with and when he’s deep stance on a defender I can’t say many beating him off the bounce.
- Serious threat to jump passing lanes. His 0-60 is such a threat that the opponents were scared to throw a seven foot pass when the teammate had a step on Siman.
- North has Sem trapping first pass often on the wing after he defends the ball up the floor and it resulted in two quick turnovers. Siman’s length is a constant issue for offenses.
