Leo (9-5) vs. Homestead (8-4) – 7:30 PM ET
On the backs of Tahj Curry (Homestead) and Dylan Barrow (Leo), these two teams have been some of the better programs in the Fort Wayne area this year. It should come down to a few close baskets and I think Homestead could struggle to defend 6’8 Barrow and 6’2 Kray Klopfenstein. Prediction: Leo
Arsenal Tech (11-2) vs. Cathedral (10-3) – 7:30 PM ET
In the Championship game of the Indianapolis City Tournament, Tech has already beaten Cathedral this season but since then Cathedral has not lost. They are riding a 7-game winning streak and are one of the hottest teams in the state right now. A little revenge tonight. Prediction: Cathedral
Tuesday:
Lawrence Central (13-4) vs. Fishers (7-7) – 7:30 PM ET
Lawrence Central has gone 3-3 in their last 6 games with losses to HSE, ECC, and North Central. On the other hand, Fishers has won 3 straight and has gained a bit of confidence back. LC will present a tough challenge for them. Prediction: Lawrence Central
Silver Creek (11-2) vs. Providence (9-4) – 7:30 PM ET
Silver Creek started off the year 11-0 before losing their last two games to Borden and Brownstown Central. Providence has a solid record but hasn’t been really tested this year other than Jeffersonville and Floyd Central. Silver Creek will be the toughest yet. Prediction: Silver Creek
Zionsville (9-4) vs. Indianapolis Pike (13-3) – 7:30 PM ET
Pike causes a lot of issues for teams that don’t know how to play against a press. Zionsville will still struggle with this but their young backcourt is pretty impressive and they have done well this season. If Zionsville’s guards can stay away from turnovers, they can win this game. Prediction: Indianapolis Pike
Wednesday:
Barr-Reeve (12-2) vs. Pike Central (12-1) – 7:30 PM ET
Probably one of the best, if not the best game of the week. Barr-Reeve will bring the entire town over to Pike Central where these teams are a combined 24-3 this year. Pike Central has a little more size but Barr-Reeve has the horses that have been here before. Prediction: Barr-Reeve
Thursday:
Andrean (6-6) vs. Griffith (14-1)
Andrean started off the year 0-4 before hitting its stride. They are 6-2 since just before Christmas. Griffith picked up their first loss of the year this past week on a buzzer beater to East Chicago. Should be a good matchup but Griffith should get the edge in this one. Prediction: Griffith
Friday:
Evansville Harrison (10-3) vs. Vincennes Lincoln (12-3) – 8:00 PM ET
Evansville Harrison has shown to be one of the top teams in the southern part of the state. Vincennes Lincoln has been a bit of a surprise but the emergence of Ethan Claycomb has really made things interesting for them. Prediction: Vincennes Lincoln
Fort Wayne Snider (8-5) vs. Fort Wayne Carroll (12-3) – 8:00 PM ET
Snider has been one of the more traveled teams this season. Carroll will do that more but hasn’t been as tested yet as Snider. That could give Malik Williams and company a little bit of an edge but Carroll’s depth is hard to overlook. Prediction: Fort Wayne Carroll
Mt. Vernon (Fortville) (12-2) vs. Connersville (13-3) – 7:30 PM ET
Mt. Vernon has finally come into its own and they are playing really, really well this season. Connersville has been much of a surprise but they had a great run in the Bob Wettig Tournament against some touch competition. Tough test for each team in this one. Prediction: Mt. Vernon (Fortville)
Terre Haute South (11-4) vs. Bloomington South (12-4) – 7:30 PM ET
Terre Haute South has been okay this season but really needs some marquee wins. Now, Bloomington South isn’t what you would consider a marquee matchup but still a very good one and could help add to their resume. Prediction: Terre Haute South
Warsaw (15-0) vs. NorthWood (13-1) – 7:45 PM ET
Warsaw has made it through to this point without a loss. They have been tested and tested well. NorthWood only has one loss to a tough Fishers team early in the year. NorthWood has the pieces to take them down but so did a few other teams this year. Will be a fun game either way. Prediction: NorthWood
Saturday:
Castle (12-3) vs. Bloomington South (12-4) – 7:30 PM ET
Castle has yet to leave it’s comfort zone this year so a trip to Bloomington South will prove plenty valuable for them. Castle has a ton of size and can bring something that not many teams can, a 6’11 post player. Bloomington South will struggle with that but if they can outshoot them they could have a shot. Prediction: Caslte
Cathedral (10-3) vs. Franklin Central (10-3) – 7:30 PM ET
Probably one of the biggest surprises this season in the Indianapolis area is how well Franklin Central has done against some tough teams. They have lost a few too but Cathedral presents a matchup that could help with confidence come Sectional time. They should be ready to go. Prediction: Franklin Central
Liberty Christian (12-3) vs. Northeastern (10-3) – 7:30 PM ET
These two teams are about exactly where they were at at this time last year. Both teams should play at a high pace and it should be very entertaining from a watching perspective. It’s all about horses in this one and Liberty Christian might just have more. Prediction: Liberty Christian
Lowell (13-3) vs. Merrillville (14-1) – 8:00 PM ET
Lowell has a pair of nice wins this season over Valparaiso and Lake Central but Merrillville is a whole other animal. Not sure the style of play matches well with what Lowell would want to do in this one but it is now the biggest game on their schedule on a Saturday night. Prediction: Merrillville
Park Tudor (10-3) vs. North Central (13-1) – 7:30 PM ET
Park Tudor hasn’t been the same since the departure of Kyle Cox but they are still a great team with tons of talent. The Jaren Jackson vs. Kris Wilkes matchup will be the one to watch. North Central holds the edge right now but Park Tudor could be dominant if they choose to be. Prediction: North Central
