A two-year starter for head coach Chad Jones’ Trojans, Zeil is shooting 46 percent from behind the 3-point arc this season, as is averring 13 points and six rebounds per game.
“He is a great program kid and a two year starter for a program that has had a lot of success the past couple of years,” Jones said. “He is a pick-and-pop 4 man or a stretch 4. He shoots the 3 extremely well at 6-7 and can do some work inside as well. He is that guy that every team needs to keep everything going in the right direction.
“When you need a 3 or something in the paint, he can provide either one.”
However, the 6-7 big man says he also brings defense and energy to his team and is working on becoming an even more well-rounded player.
“I am working on guard skills and decision making as a guard,” he said.
Zeil spent the offseason competing for the KC Pumas and said the experience was, “The best thing ever.”
He has since begun to draw interest from several MIAA and Great Lakes Valley Conference NCAA Division II schools, but says he doesn’t currently have any offers.
