Playing on deep and talented Park Hill team that features a host of upperclassen, Jones said Bell is getting his feet wet at the varsity level this season.
“He is a sophomore, we are pretty deep so he isn’t getting a whole lot of minutes for us right now, but he is dressing varsity,” Park Hill head coach Chad Jones said. “He is super springy and is very, very quick.
“He has a great 15 foot jump shot and as he matures, he is going to be a great player for us as well. He is a young kid that is going to make some noise over the next few years.”
Bell described himself as a slasher and scorer that can rebound, hustle and put the ball in the basket.
Although he has yet to draw any significant recruiting attention, Bell spent the offseason playing for Kansas City based YOBO and says the experience has helped him improve his all-around game.
“YOBO Nation, playing with them has made me everything that I am,” Bell said. “In life and all the sports I play. The mentality to never back down from nothing, giving my all from start to finish, and holding myself accountable. YOBO made me.”
Bell said he is continuing to work on a wide range of aspects of his game, including, “My dribbling, making everything tighter and more crisp,” he said.
“Also my strength, finishing And-1’s around the basket. Also just overall defense.”
