When the 6’5″ Henderson gets the ball anywhere near the rim, his objective is to finish with force; and plenty of it. Whether it is with the right hand or his natural left hand, Henderson wants to dunk at every opportunity. He finishes on the break with authority and can throw it down in the low post off the drop step.
“I like to dunk whenever I can,” said Henderson. “I like to hear the crowd and my teammates love it. Everyone gets excited and pumped up.”
Henderson was one of the top players at the MICDS Holiday Tournament, where he was selected to the All-Tournament Team. He averaged more than 20 points a game and routinely threw down four or five dunks a game.
Henderson plays with a high motor with tremendous activity on both ends of the court. It is that activity that has earned him interest from several Division I school such as Eastern Illinois, Western Illinois, SEMO, Missouri State and Northern Colorado.
Heading into the 2016 portion of the schedule, Henderson is averaging 20 points and 11 rebounds a game. He has shown much improvement on the defensive end, especially when it comes to avoiding fouls.
“I’m much better and knowing where I supposed to be on the court,” Henderson said. “I’ve improved my defense a lot. I’m much better and staying out of foul trouble.”
Henderson spent this past summer playing with the St. Louis Eagles 16U team.
