Ritter is a big man who can play with his back to the basket, or face up and shoot the 15-foot jumper or drive.
“I can also play with my back to the basket and score on post moves,” he said. “I am a solid defender and a great rebounder. I bring energy and consistency to the team.
“I also bring a calm head to the floor and don’t get uncomfortable under pressure.”
“He has done a nice job for us all season and uses feet and does a nice job of getting post position,” Kearney head coach head coach Zane Turner said. “He has been finishing at the rim for us all year. He has done a real good job.”
Although the team is just 3-7 this season, head coach Zane Turner says the Bulldogs still have promise. The squad has lost a host of close games and played a tough schedule. On Tuesday they fell to Park Hill by three, and they will host Liberty North today.
Ritter spent the offseason playing for the MoKan 17U Select and has since started to draw interest from a host of schools.
“The experience I got from MoKan was exposure at tournaments,” he said. “Hard work pays off in the long run — and team work.”
Still, Ritter said he is working on several areas of his game as he prepares for the next level, including his outside shoots, dribbling, attacking the basket, vertical and quickness.
He has drawn interest from Simpson College, Nebraska Wesleyan and Central College.
