Dean helped the club with wins over Watertown and Yankton making late game plays and also leading the club in scoring in both of those games.
“The season has been going well so far,” Dean said over the weekend. “We are 5-1. The best way for us to keep getting better is by keeping a high level of intensity every day in practice and to not take any days off!”
The list of wins includes Abderden Central, Watertown, Yankton, and O’Gorman. Last night Dean and his team dropped their second game of the season (50-48 to the likely new number one Huron) but Dean hit double figures for the game and was one of the few consistent options for the Governors last evening.
Dean first caught the attention of PHD at the state tournament last year when his three point stroke was on display for the entire state to see. Dean’s next focus is on expanding his game.
“I feel like my game has improved a fair amount from last season. One thing I have tried to do is get more shots in the paint to become more balanced.
“I think I have played pretty well these first few games, but we have to keep playing/practicing with the same level of intensity for us to keep getting better.”
Pierre has Mitchell, Rapid City Central, Sturgis Brown, and Brookings coming up so they have a chance to build another winning streak heading into the meat of the season
