Blair Oaks vs. Southern Boone – The championship of the Tri-County Conference championship is on the line tonight in Eldon. Southern Boone is ranked No. 9 in Class 3, but Blair Oaks is the No. 1 seed. Both have solid all-around teams. Prediction: Blair Oaks
New Franklin vs. Westran – These conference rivals will meet for the championship of the New Franklin Tournament. In their first meeting, Westran took a 48-44 decision in the third-place game at the Glasgow Tournament. Much more is on the line this time. Prediction: New Franklin
Salisbury vs. NE Cairo – This game is for the championship of the Madison Tournament. Salisbury is ranked No. 4 in Class 2. Their top player is 6’3″ junior Garrett Francis, who is averaging 19 points a game in the tournament. Cairo is led by 6’4″ senior forward Clabe Reed. Hall of Fame head coach Bob Roberts of Cairo picked up career victory No. 1,000 in last night’s semifinal win over Community. Prediction: Salisbury
Mexico vs. Palmrya – This is for the championship of the Highland Tournament. Mexico defeated Knox County 65-56 in the semifinals while Palmyra staged a dramatic fourth-quarter rally to edge Canton 54-53. Sophomore Trae Meny scored game-winner in the closing seconds for Palmyra. Mexico field a very talented and experienced team. Prediction: Mexico
Marceline vs. Glasgow – These excellent Class 1 teams will meet for the championship of the Marceline Tournament. It will be their second meeting for a tournament title this season. Glasgow defeated Marceline 45-34 in the championship game of the Glasgow Tournament in early December. Glasgow is ranked No. 4 in Class 1: Prediction: Glasgow
Charleston at Sikeston – A showdown between Southeast Missouri Conference rivals. Undefeated Sikeston is rolling along with an undefeated record and No. 1 ranking in the state in Class 4. Charleston is young and very talented and a threat in Class 3. The two teams meet earlier this season in the championship of the SEMO Conference Tournament with Sikeston winning in a rout. Prediction: Sikeston
Vianney at SLUH – A Metro Catholic Conference showdown featuring two of the top teams in the state. Vianney is coming off a big road victory at Class 4 power Vashon on Monday night. The return of 6’2″ senior Zach Colletta from an injury has been big for Vianney. SLUH broke out of its holiday slump with a big victory over visiting DeSmet on Tuesday night. Senior Matt Nester broke out with 26 points for the Jr. Bills. Prediction: SLUH
Hickman at Blue Springs South – Two of the state’s top point guards will be on display in this non-conference game. Blue Springs South is led by Nebraska-Omaha signee K.J. Robinson, who is averaging 25 points a game. Hickman is led by emerging junior floor general Chase Thomas. Prediction: Blue Springs South
Hermitage vs. Walnut Grove – An excellent match-up in the Polk County League tonight. Walnut Grove is 13-0 and ranked among the best Class 1 schools in the state. They feature a dynamic duo in senior guard Dallas Meinders and sophomore Logan Thomazin. Hermitage is a well-balanced team with four players in double figures, led by junior Dillon Meyer’s 15 points a game. Prediction: Walnut Grove
Chaminade vs. Belleville Althoff – This will be the showcase game of tomorrow’s Highland (Ill) Shootout at 8:15 p.m. The nationally-ranked Red Devils and All-American Jayson Tatum will face Althoff, the top team in the metro east area. The Crusaders are led by super junior Jordan Goodwin. Both stars are surrounded by Division I talent. The game has been sold out for quite awhile. Prediction: Chaminade
