Now the top ranked team has Watertown and Nate Davis. All eyes are on Nate this evening as this is his showcase as potentially the best player in the state of South Dakota. Does Watertown have the depth to get this victory? Tonight we will see.
- Marshall at SF Roosevelt. The Marshall Tigers were preseason number two in Minnesota’s Class AAA but they dropped their first two games as a talented junior class was getting used to new roles. Now the Tigers are on a four game winning streak facing a Rough Rider squad that fell apart against Washington in the final quarter on Tuesday. This will definitely be a fantastic match-up with Mitch Sueker vs Tristan Teichmeier, Tyler Van Voorst vs Weston Baker Magrath, and upperclassmen Marshall guards against some talented new players of Roosevelt. Close game, we like Marshall by four.
- Parker at Alcester-Hudson. Last year’s consolation champs hit the road as marked men when they face the wing combo of Grant Johnson and Sam Jensen on their home turf. Both teams are 1-1 looking to get ahead early in the year. Who wins? Parker is replacing more pieces but has the better looking early performances. Give us Parker by a point.
- Sioux Valley at Baltic. There are young talents to keep on eye on with these teams. Host lead guard Jon Wilhelmsen is a player we like while the sophomores of Sioux Valley (Trevor Hanson and Trevor Olson) are very strong themselves. Sioux Valley wins by 17 on the road behind the veteran play and Collin Kramer has a dunk that will hit Twitter about 9:30 we would guess.
- Rosholt at Florence Henry. PHD is big on Alex Krueger and expect a big night from him. They are on the road tonight though and Florence/Henry is looking to avenge a 20 point loss to Waverly-South Shore. Can the home team slow down Krueger? We don’t believe they can.
- Yankton at Harrisburg. Those Harrisburg Tigers are playing with a chip on their shoulder. They had a rough season last year and started the 15-16 campaign with an 11 point loss to Brandon Valley. The Tigers have five of their next six games at home but the road is tough. If things are to be turned around Wil Johnson has to match Reid Sawatzke. Best defense wins.
- Corsica-Stickney at Mt. Vernon/Plankinton. This does not set up very well for the visitors. They are playing their first game of the season against a bigger team that just doubled up an opponent. We do like the PG match-up of Tate Deinert and Eli Vab Roekel but the final tally could be gross.
- Hettinger/Scranton at Harding County. The Clayton Koch against Hayden Sadowsky battle will be excellent and worth the time so who comes out on top? Harding County is 2-0 right now while Hettinger/Scranton had a tough first weekend and now they have a road game to try and grab a win out of.
