Continue ReadingClass A is in full swing and the hierarchy is starting to be established while Class B isn’t even a full week in yet so there is still much to be learned. Most Class B teams have only played a single game at this point. Either way, the season is in full swing and PHD is ready to watch it day in and day out.
- Closest Game of the Night. Wilton/Wing defeating New Salem-Almont 58-56
- The Beating of the Evening. Stanley over Divide County 87-27
- Eye Catcher. Bismarck only beat St. Mary’s by 11 which is a bit less than expected.
- Upset of the Night. None that we are aware of.
- How Did We Do? Out of 8 games we picked we went 6-1. The Jamestown/Mandan game is Thursday (ND Scores schedule was wrong). MLS beat Westhope/Newburg. Outside of that the picks went well.
- Big Numbers. Siman Sem had 31 in the loss, Jacob Mertens had 29 and 13 in the loss, Dalton Feeney took over his game for Century against Legacy, Matt Veit scored 29
- Youth Note. Sophomore Cole Gendreau put up 22 points, 6 rebounds, and four assists in the loss to Bismarck.
- Class A Undefeateds. Minot, Bismarck, Fargo Davies, GF Red River. Century lost in Wyoming so they are out but they are 4-1. Davies is the highest scoring team in North Dakota at 83 a night so far. Century has the best defense giving up only 48 a night.
- Winless. There are four. Central, Fargo South, and St. Mary’s is not a surprise but Sheyenne is a bit of a surprise. They will likely clean that defense up soon.
- Class B. Tough to say too much as only three teams have played three or more games yet. Who is putting up numbers? That would be St. John who scored 112 in their first game. Best defense? That would be defending champion Rugby giving up only 30 points in their opener.
