Ausitn Sappingfield
6’9 – PF – 2017
Sappingfield didn’t have a great game but showed some improvements. He was much more active in the paint this game than at all this past summer. He needs to show some improvement there and tonight he did just that simply by playing there. Austin didn’t score a lot of points but his balance between inside and out was a lot better of a ratio. He really needs strength and as he gains it you will see him really speed up in his development. This could and should be a building block game for him. – 5 points
Jake Lautenschlager
6’3 – SG – 2019
Jake showed good promise tonight with solid play at the Varsity level and was able to impact the game a little. He’s every bit of 6’3 and has a great frame for a 14 year old kid. He’s got solid touch on his jump shot and form looks solid. He was fairly active and should find ways to score in games as long as he gets some playing time. Looks like a nice wing scoring and a new freshman prospect to put on the radar. – 4 points
Corey Vickers
5’`10 – PG – 2016
Vickers was the star of the game and he didn’t even play the fourth quarter. The 5’10 guard put on a show between the end of the second quarter and the start of the third. He about 19 points in 6 game minutes and went after Rockville play after play. He’s got a small chance to play at the next level. Would fit the mold of a Nick Mills (Noblesville/Marian U.) guy, a guard who can really shoot the ball. Vickers went 6/9 from behind the arc in this one. – 35 points
Rockville:
Lance Hopkins
6’5 – SF – 2017
Lance looked much improved from a year ago. He’s got a lot to work on but the thing that impressed me the most was his activeness. He was great all game at giving good energy and was able to make plays off of it. He’ll need to finish more of those plays though. He took a few shots from behind the arc and was great out in transition. Hopkins has a lot of upside because of his size and strength and versatility. Production is the next step for him. – 7 points
Jeffery Gooch
6’5 – PF – 2016
Gooch is a nice low level college prospect for a team looking for a little size. At 6’5, Gooch showed he can do well around the rim faced up. He liked to drive from the mid-range and in and was able to draw a lot of fouls that way. He shot really well from the charity stripe and added a few more buckets to the total. Needs a bit of strength but enough now that he can play quicker. Did a good job of defending Sappingfield in the post.- 14 points
