SF Zeke Moore 6’7′ (Riverview Gardens ___2016): Smooth swingman who has already signed at Saint Louis University. Scored 12 points against Cardinal Ritter, but it was an off-shooting day. Did a good job of creating shots for teammates when his shot wasn’t falling. Had one strong rim attack when he nearly threw down a tomahawk dunk in traffic. Would love to see him do that more often.
PF Brandon Jackson 6’7″ (Cardinal Ritter ___ 2016): The athletic power forward has not been playing basketball for a long time, so he just keeps getting better each year. He has a long, active body and he plays with a high motor. He is strong around the basket and has developed a few moves from the perimeter as well. His best basketball is still well ahead of him. A low-major, possible mid-major prospect.
SG Sterling Wooten 6’3″ (Cardinal Ritter ___ 2016): Combo guard who is enjoying a breakout senior season. Has good size and can attack the rim, but can also shoot the 3-pointer. Finished with a couple of big dunks in transition. Good work ethic. He is constantly working on his game to get better. Can be a good late get for a Division 2 or low-Division 1 school.
SF Devaughn Rucker 6’5″ (Whitfield ___ 2016): Versatile player who does everything for the Warriors. Plays point forward, but also can post up and get buckets. He is at his best with the ball in his hands when he can create matchup problems against bigger defenders. Has worked hard to improve his perimeter jumper. Has several Division 2 offers already.
PG K’Quan Carter (Riverview Gardens ___ 2016): A powerful post player who goes about 260 pounds. He knows how to use it by getting good position in the post. Has a nice jump hook over the left shoulder. Sets strong screens to get shooters open. Really enjoyed his battle with Cardinal Ritter’s Jackson in the low post. Strong, physical player. LM
PG Todd Simms 5’11” (Soldan ___ 2016): One of the quickest guards in the area with the ball in his hands. Speedy lefty who can get to the basket almost any time he wants. Doesn’t normally shoot the ball from the perimeter well, but on this day, he hit three 3-pointers on his way to 21 points. If he develops a consistent mid-range, forget about it. D2-LM.
SG Bryce Berry 6’0″ (Whitfield____ 2016): Very athletic guard who is tough to handle at the high school level. Gets to the rim pretty easily and can finish around the basket. Can also stick the open jumper. A good rebounder for his size as well. Can increase his stock as he continues to improve on his ball handling.
SG Malik Barnett 6’3″ (Riverview Gardens ___ 2016): Smooth offensive player who transferred from a smaller school, where he averaged 22 points last season. Did a good job of getting to the open spots and knocking down 3-pointers. Can really shoot it with range.
SG Alvin Thompson 6’2″ (Cardinal Ritter ___ 2016): Explosive athlete who displayed plenty of boing, boing in the victory over Riverview with four transition dunks. A state champion jumper in track and field and he puts that athleticism to use on the basketball court. Also scored on the drive and can also hit the offensive boards. At this stage, still a better athlete than a basketball player, but the gap is closing.
SF Courtney Barlow 6’4″ (Soldan ___ 2016): Projects to be a small forward in college, but plays more inside for a small, yet quick Soldan team. Fits in well with this team, because he is active and he is constantly moving. A good finisher on the break.
SG Torrence Watson 6’4″ (Whitfield ___ 2018): One of the top sophomore prospects in the state, Watson is developing the ability to score at all three levels. Really attacked the rim and either converted buckets or got himself to the free throw line on this day. Can also hit the knock-down 3-pointer and will post you up and hit the turnaround jumper. Already holds offers from Missouri, Kansas State and SLU.
PG Kyle Younge 5’8″ (Riverview Gardens ___ 2018): Did not have this young man rated in my 2018 rankings. That was dumb on my part. He is a tough point guard who showed some knock down ability against Cardinal Ritter. Scored 14 points in the first half, including four 3-pointers. He will sit down and try to guard you as well.
