Grant Gelon
6’6 – SF -2016
This was a much needed game for Grant. He had really struggled against Warren Central and Pike but he brought it today. Got a early three to fall and that kind of built things up for him. Was back to hitting his jumpers and drilled a couple long threes. Was more active off the bounce. He’s got to stay mentally strong because guys seemed to be physical with him all over the court. If he can deal with that, his shooting is one of the best specialized skills in the entire state. – 15 points
Sasha Stefanovic
6’5 – SG – 2017
Love the game of Sasha. He’s a big, strong kid who is still growing and has an incredible amount of skill. Really good ball handler who can beat a press and at the same time can shoot the lights out of the ball. Could get to 6’6 or taller and as he has grown the last year he hasn’t lost a step with his handles. One knock on him is he isn’t a speedy guy, more slow and methodical but knows how to play like that and had no trouble with LN’s quick, fiesty guards. Likely a 2/3 in college but his versatility is really helpful. – 31 points
John Sakaleros
6’5 – PF – 2016
John had a pretty good game against some of the best athletes in the state. He’s a really functional big man in 2016 who can score well in the post. Not going to blow people away with his skill but knows how to get good position on the low block and he finished against Easley, Bender, and others. Going to be a nice sign for a small college program as a guy that can bring size and scoring. – 9 points
Lawrence North:
Kevin Easley
6’5 – SF – 2018
Easley is still in a bit of a slump. He’s definitely talented and has enough to be a high-major player. Right now he’s playing too much on feel and not thinking about each individual play. However, he is able to make winning plays even going through a bit of a struggle. He had a big rebound and putback late in the game to keep the score knotted up. I like that this is a natural part of his game, the ability to impact the boards and finish. – 16 points
Dexter Shouse
6’2 – SG – 2019
Best game of the year I’ve seen from Dexter. The 6’2 scoring guard is extremely talented but on a roster full of studs it is hard to cut your teeth. He’s been finding his spots and today he was aggressive early and it paid off. He hit a big shot from the perimeter and then a nice drive to the rim for the and-one. Thought he would be more of a jumper shooter, hitting in transition but has been a nice balance of shooting and driving so far. – 6 points
Djimon Henson
6’2 – SG – 2016
Like Gelon, Djimon needed a game to get him back on track. This wasn’t a bad one. He had trouble shooting the ball early in the year and that was a good way to get him out of the game. This game he was basing his play on being active in every play. That helped him to at least find his mojo. That was capped off by him hitting the game-winner from three. This could be a big game for his play the rest of the year. – 20 points
