Isiah Wilson, a 5-foot-11 2018 can handle the ball, is a good passer and a scrappy player on offense and defense who can get to the rim. He spent the offseason playing for MoKan Chris Neff, who says Wilson can hurt opponents in a variety of ways.
“Isiah is a point guard with the ability to score off the bounce as well as a spot up shooter,” MoKan coach Chris Neff said. “He has a flare for the spectacular play and will run your team for you as a play make and that is hard to find these days. He is a capable of guarding any point guard, and is an amazing competitor.”
“It was an awesome experience playing with MoKan,” Wilson said. “They work us so hard and most importantly they want all of us to be successful. There is nothing better than traveling and playing against some of the best players in the country.”
After playing with and against some of the top players in the country during the offseason, Wilson is getting more of that experience during the high school season, playing with Tolton Catholic, who feature 2017 five star Michael Porter and Washington University commit Jantay Porter.
“They’re like my brothers and playing with them has created many opportunities for me,” Wilson said. “They are amazing basketball players who know what they are doing, and spending a lot of time with them off the court helps our chemistry on the court as well.”
Wilson said his recruiting has picked up over the summer and while he doesn’t hold any offers yet, he has heard from Drake, Northern Iowa, Western Illinois, and Missouri State, among others.
Still, Wilson says he knows he has areas of his game is he needs to improve.
“Some things I have been working a lot on is my vertical jump, shooting, and physical strength,” Wilson said. “I think when I get those three things down I will be tough to stop.”
