Outlook
- Webster Groves: The Statesmen feature a talented stable of guards, led by nationally-ranked sophomore Courtney Ramey, senior leader Leland Bradford and juniors Cam Potts and Kevin Butler. Senior forward Chris Gordon is a hard-working post who rebounds well. The Statesmen got the season starting by rolling to the championship of their own tournament.
2. Pattonville: The Pirates feature Mr. Inside in explosive 6’5″ junior Richard Henderson and Mr. Outside in junior point guard Destan Williams. Senior transfer Jerrid Crosby is an athletic 6’4 wing player. Pattonville advanced to the championship game of its own tournament at the beginning of the season.
3. Kirkwood: Senior guard Dominique Loyd is an excellent offensive player who can score and get to the basket. Inside, the Pioneers rely on athletic 6’5″ junior Tahj Telfair, who has some nice inside moves and good shot-blocking ability. The Pioneers were the runners-up at the Warrior Classic at St. Charles West.
4. Ritenour: The Huskies are young and talented, but are led by senior Fermin Jeff, who averages 23 points a game. Ritenour will run and score a lot of points this season. The catalyst of the Huskies’ up-tempo offense is speedy junior Robyion Hughes.
5. Parkway North: Sophomore post player Michael Thompson was an impact player on the Vikings football player during the fall. The 6’5″ 270-pound Thompson is doing the same in basketball as well, averaging close to a double-double to start the season.
6. Summit: The Falcons have gotten some good play early from promising freshman guard Tanner Jennings at the beginning of the season.
