Outlook
- Hazelwood Central: The Hawks are loaded with size, athleticism and senior experience. They have already won the championship of the Vianney Tournament with a victory over a powerful Vashon team in the finals. Holloway, Sneed and Dobbs form an excellent trio at the point, wing and low post. Sophomore guard Shaun Williams is a nice future prospect.
2 Riverview Gardens: The Rams will be right on the Hawks’ tails this season, led by the versatile 6’7″ Moore, who plays all three perimeter positions. The 6’7″ 260-pound Carter is a load inside and the 6’9″ Draggs will add even more talent and size when he becomes eligible in January. The Rams will contend in Class 4.
3. Hazelwood East: The Spartans feature a talented guard in senior Corey Shepherd, a physically strong scorer who gets buckets in a multitude of ways. Fellow senior James McKelvin has emerged as a potent scorer early in the season. Both are averaging 24 points a game.
4. McCluer: The Comets could make a little noise in Class 4 this season with a deep roster with a lot of quickness. 2017 PG Ryan Warren-Hogue is an electrifying offensive player with flashy moves and scoring ability off the drive and the 3-pointer. Senior guard Sydney Satterwhite has emerged as a strong second option.
5. McCluer North: The Stars have already won the championship of the Borgia Thanksgiving Tournament. 2016 athlete Harry Ballard is a major college football recruit, but he came out for hoops as a senior and is averaging 21 points a game.
