Team Previews: #13 Chaparral

<p><strong>Head Coach:</strong> Daniel Peterson</p><p><strong>Affiliation:</strong> AIA, Division 2, Section 3</p> <p><strong>Top Dog(s):</strong> Colten Kresl (6&#39;0", G, JR); JT Thoman (6&#39;1, G, JR)</p> <p><strong>Sleeper:</strong> Kai Fletcher (6&#39;6", F, JR);</p> <p><strong>Notes: </strong>Chaparral is searching for it&#39;s first state title in basketball. The past 8 years, the Firebirds have consistently been in the hunt with some of the most talented players the state has seen. Heading into the 2015-16 campaign, Chaparral is loaded with junior talent that will make a push for a title with the likes of <strong>Colten Kresl</strong><strong> </strong>and <strong>JT Thoman, </strong>two guards<strong> </strong>who have made great strides this past summer. Along with two strong junior guards the "Birds" have a strong team leader in senior guard <strong>Scott McGil</strong> who also will contribute. 6&#39;6" forward <strong>Kai Fletcher</strong> will enforce on the interior. Chaparral will be in a tough section that includes Mesa, Mesa Mountain View, Desert Ridge, Dobson, Red Mountain and Skyline. Each night will be a dog fight but the Firebirds will always be in contention.</p>
