Recruiting Report: Rudy Bibb-Boyd (2016)

<h2>October 13, 2015</h2><p>With two offers already extended from Alcorn State and Lincoln Memorial, point guard <strong>Rudy Bibb-Boyd</strong> seeks to add to his short list during his senior season with Gainesville.</p> <p>“I had offers from other schools, but some guys committed early so they backed off. I have super-heavy interest from Florida A&M and Austin Peay right now. This season I think I should be able to pick up those offers and then I can go from there,” said Bibb-Boyd.</p> <p>“I haven’t made up my mind yet if I wanted to sign early or sign late, but I’ll probably sign late.”</p> <p>The 6-foot-1 point guard -- ranked 33rd in <em>PHF’s</em> 2016 rankings -- spent his spring and summer running with Showtime Ballers, and says he thrived defensively.</p> <p>“This summer I thought I proved that not only can I get it done on the offensive end, but I can also get it done on the defensive end. And I thought I did good as the point guard controlling the pace for the team, we have some athletes on Showtime and I thought I did a good job keeping stuff under control and running the team,” said Bibb-Boyd who characterized his style of play.</p> <p>“I like to get up-and-down and play up-tempo. I’m not the kind of point guard that likes to walk the ball up the floor every time, I want to get the ball up-and-down fast.”</p> <p>“I feel l can really shoot the ball, and ball-handling, I’m strong with the ball, and then setting teammates up.”</p> <p>Last season as the starting point guard for a Gainesville team that advanced to the state championship game, Bibb-Boyd averaged 13 points and 5 assists per game. This season he says he’s ready to take his game to the next level.</p> <p>“This upcoming season I feel like I want to explode and show everybody how good of a player I really am,” said Bibb-Boyd. “And I want to get back to the state championship game.”</p>
