Here we look at a cross class reference point to see how they stack up against each other in our “Overall Prospect Rankings.” This is a look at prospects #36 – #40.
#36 SG Justin Boyd (Whitney Young _ 2018)
Boyd is a bouncy 6’2” sophomore for Whitney Young that had a breakout July with Meanstreets 15U. He is great in transition where he can play above the rim. Where Boyd really shined was with his perimeter shooting where he knocked down three point shots with regularity. Should be a plus defender with length and lateral quickness.
#37 SG Darius Beane (Carbondale _ 2018)
The Carbondale combo guard has a long and rangy frame that is projectable long term. He has played off the ball most of his career, but his best asset might be his passing. Good looking form on a perimeter jump shot.
#38 PG Chase Adams (Marian Catholic _ 2018)
The 5’4” Adams might not have the height, but he makes up for it with tremendous vision and court awareness. Adams has an advanced feel for the game getting his teammates involved and being an outstanding leader. Scores with a sweet pull up jumper and has speed in open floor.
#39 SG James Jones (Bogan _ 2016)
Jones is by far the veteran of this group. The Bogan senior is a big wing at 6’4” that when he gets on a scoring roll can be unguardable. Good looking perimeter stroke and plays above the rim in the open floor. Consistency is the key!
#40 SG Drew Peterson (Libertyville _ 2018)
Peterson was a pleasant surprise on the circuit as he put up numbers game in and game out never disappointing. The long and wiry 6’4” two guard should continue to grow and already has a nice offensive game with his ability to blow by defenders and score with ease.
