Combine Top Post Prospects

The PrepHoopsIllinois combine took place this past Saturday at Joy of the Game in Deerfield. It featured some standout performers at all positions. Here we take a look at some of the best post prospects at the camp. Anthony Cameron (Hyde Park – 2017) Cameron is a big boy at 6’8” with a physical body and frame. He is all about upside! The junior is a bit raw at this stage as he takes a long time to set up his post moves. Offensively he is at his best when he gets deep post position and finishes with strength. Solid rebounder with his large hands snatching the ball and even had an impressive block. Plays hard and with a lot of enthusiasm. Runs the floor well for his size. TeeAaron Powell (Marian Catholic – 2017) Powell is a 6’8” four man that started the day off showing well in the drills. He consistently knocked down mid-range jumpers with ease. Continues to show development in this area as a face up post. Powell worked great with Dosunmu in the pick and roll game. He is light on his feet and very mobile. Runs the floor tremendously well and finishes around the hoop. When he gets the ball in the post he can score with his back to the basket using touch. Length plays well on the defensive end and glass. Jacob Pfeiffer (Springfield Lutheran – 2017) Pfeiffer is a 6’8” post from central Illinois. He has a physical body and some tools to work with. Great size and is active around the hoop. Prospect that the more games he gets under his belt the better he should continue to get. Mick Sullivan (Marmion Academy – 2018) Sullivan is a 6’7” physically built post that is very intriguing as a sophomore. The Marmion post plays tough around the hoop as a rebounder and post defender. Moves well and showed that off with an impressive drive in the open floor that he finished with a dunk using his off hand. One of the better center prospects in the early stages of the 2018 class. Jordan Morris (Proviso East – 2018) The 6’5” power forward is one of the most imposing prospects in the class of 2018. He is built like an outside linebacker. The sophomore has huge hands which allow him to snatch rebounds and finish around the hoop with thunderous dunks. Very athletic and powerful prospect that could transition into a combo forward as time goes on. Niko Arsic (Lane Tech – 2018) The Lane Tech 6’5” combo forward has long arms and a frame he should be able to add strength which he will need going forward. Displayed quality mobility running the floor and being light on his feet around the hoop finishing with a soft touch in the paint.
