Briggs Carbo is one of the top returners for Holy Savior Menard. The 2016 point guard now has a new head coach in Brian Terwilliger formerly the assistant coach at LSUA. The Eagles have a strong team coming in and a fresh new philosophy.
Carbo has emerged as the leader for Menard and with much responsibility comes much pressure as well. He can be one of the breakout players in the CENLA area with a strong senior season. We asked Briggs a few questions and this is how it went.
What do you consider to be the strong points in your game?
“My speed is a strong point, I can break the press and get the ball up the floor.”
What colleges have reached out and expressed interest in you?
“None.”
What parts of your game are you working on this fall to make you a better player?
“Getting shots up, finishing with contact.”
During the game what do you try to focus on doing Offensively? Defensively?
“I try to get our team to play one way, which is running our offense, playing together, keep spacing, move off the ball. Defensively I set the tempo, up in your grill type of defense.”
How do you believe your role will change this high school season for your team?
“I believe I am the leader of the team this year. Especially as the quarterback (point guard) it's my job to lead these guys.”
How tall are you and what skills at that height do you think impressed college coaches this summer?
“5'10″ my speed and pace of the game. How well I know the game.”
What is your GPA and have you taken the ACT yet and if so what is your highest score so far?
“GPA is 3.6 took the ACT but haven't gotten results back yet.”
